Blew two tires on the freeway, and had one spare. Website says 24 hour service, and this clown didn't want to do anything until the morning, leaving me to sit on the side of the road all night. Called Paul's Towing in Mitchell, and they came out with a new tire to get me back on the road.
Had a fuel water separator filter sucking air and didn't have a filter wrench with me. They had the filter and swapped it out quickly. The guys in the shop are great. The billing department not so much. Charged me $54 for the fuel filter and $93 in labor... sadly this is what businesses resort to when they see someone in serious need.
Had a blowout that took out an airbag too. The guys that came out did a great job and did it quick, no problem there. But when I went to the shop to pay it was way more than it was worth. They charged me 4hrs labor when it took them only one hour. They said the clock starts when they leave the shop, but paying $109 per hour for each guy just to drive was $218 just to drive 83 miles round trip.That's too much. Then they charge per mile. I would have been fine paying a milage fee or an hourly fee, but both is way too much. The tire and airbag were over priced. This repair cost well over $1000.00. For one used tire and one airbag for a total of 86 miles!! Way too much.
Best place to get your rig back up and going.
While traveling with my parents, their RV broke down. A and R had great service. Worked hard to hook up and tow it. Very friendly owner and staff. Trustworthy enough that when they weren't 100% sure they could fix it, they referred us on to a Cummins Service Center. Generous enough to let us stay on the property in the RV and even let us plug in to a 50 amp service to run the RV. Reasonable price for an entire days work. Would have given 5 stars had they been able to fix the RV (and it wasn't for lack of trying).
